Try to exercise your intuition, listen to your body, and cultivate a mindful approach when it comes to your meal. Check in with yourself and only take what looks good to you. Pay attention to hunger and fullness the cues your body is giving you. If you’ve eaten past fullness give yourself grace and self compassion rather than judging yourself.

What type of exercise works best for you?

so much of society and media tells us what we need to do in order to be healthier and be more fit. It seems like every other fitness account on Instagram is creating some sort of 4, 8, or 12 workout plan and when the buzz starts to develop around it everyone jumps on the train. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for the hustle of making passive income, but I do often wonder what do programs like these teach us as a society as a whole. With so much of today’s messaging around health centered around some sort of workout program, I can’t help but wonder do these programs truly help in creating a stronger, healthier, more empowered intuitive individual, or does one just fall into a greater challenge of trying to develop a workout routine that works for their lifestyle.

The Self Inflicted Shame and Pain of NOT Seeing Progress

It’s #transformationtuesday so naturally what we see are photos of people who have lost weight or made some sort of improvement so that we can cheer them on with muscle emojis, emojis with heart eyes, and the common comments of “…so proud of you!” “You look amazing!” “Wow this is incredible!” And of course there’s nothing wrong with any of that. I’m not hating on it. I used to be on the #progresspic train constantly especially when I first started this account years ago. But what we rarely see is #transformation photos depicting regression because the truth is there’s a lot of self inflicted shame. A few days ago in my #IGstories I had mentioned that there was a something I haven’t told many people about, mostly because I was still learning how to process this emotion, and was trying to think about how to put it into words.
